Episode 52 – Year One

Year one in the bag and year two on the way! My name is Shane, your host of the Phenomena Enema Podcast, and I want to thank all of you, personally. It’s been a long year; looking back, we’ve had some great times, but we’ve also had a few speed bumps. But I’m still here bitches! The show MUST go on as I have so many ideas and topics to cover that I simply can’t just let this wither away into the darkness. So, stay subscribed and you will be updated as I update it. In the near future, expect a few episodes chock full of our greatest moments from over the past year. There’s also that elusive Episode 1 that NOBODY has heard; in fact, not even Mark or I can remember exactly what was said or how it ended. I guess what I’m trying to say is, stay tuned people, we will be back, promises. Love all of you and can’t wait to continue on down this road, together. And I’m out! -Shane.

Episode 51 – A Closer Look: Cryptozoology

MARK’S BACK!! In fact, he helped us do some research on a local legend of
Bigfoot right here in the Ozarks. Outside of that, Tori and I do our own
research of legends covered by the TV show Destination Truth with Josh
Gates; for our subjects, we chose Icelandic Elves and my favorite legend of
all time, Aisha Kandisha.

Episode 50 – Paranormal Biographies: Josh Gates

Having traveled to more than 90 countries, Josh Gates is an adventurer and avid explorer with a unique brand of humor and a deep-rooted passion for off-the-map excursions that take him in search of the world’s most enduring legends. The new original Travel Channel series Expedition Unknown, premiering in January 2015, chronicles Josh’s adventures as he explores unsolved iconic legends across the globe, such as the disappearance of Amelia Earhart in the South Pacific, the location of Captain Morgan’s treasure in Panama and the city of gold — El Dorado — in Peru. An avid scuba diver and photographer, Josh has participated in subsea archaeological excavations in the Mediterranean, and his wanderlust has taken him from sweltering African deserts to the icy shores of Antarctica. In addition, he has scaled “the roof of Africa” on Mount Kilimanjaro and climbed Aconcagua, the tallest mountain in the Americas. Josh holds degrees from Tufts University in archaeology and drama and was recently inducted into the Explorers Club — a prestigious organization dedicated to the advancement of exploration and field research. Josh previously served as host and co-executive producer of the Syfy Channel series Destination Truth and as host of Syfy’s Ghost Hunters Live. He has appeared on the Today show, CNN and a variety of other national television and radio programs. Josh’s travels are chronicled in his best-selling book, Destination Truth: Memoirs of a Monster Hunter (Simon & Schuster, 2011). Gates currently resides in Los Angeles and on airport floors around the world. (Source: http://www.travelchannel.com/shows/expedition-unknown/articles/meet-josh-gates)

Episode 49 – And Friends…

Had a Google Hangout with a few of our previous guests, turned friends. Laughed a lot, drank a lot, and of course, said a lot of dumb shit. But what else is new!? (Right?)

Episode 48 – #PodcastUnity: You Made It Weird/The Message Podcast (Holy Shit!)

You Made It Weird with Pete Holmes – #YMIW Everybody has secret weirdness, Pete Holmes gets comedians to share theirs. The Message with Nicky Tomalin The Message is a new podcast following the weekly reports and interviews from Nicky Tomalin, who is covering the decoding of a message from outer space received 70 years ago. Over the course of 8 episodes we get an inside ear on how a top team of cryptologists attempt to decipher, decode, and understand the alien message.

Episode 47 – #FPCUSH: The Black Dahlia Murder/Sowden House

The Black Dahlia’ was a nickname given to Elizabeth Short (July 29, 1924 – c. January 15, 1947), an American woman who was the victim of a much-publicized murder in 1947. Short acquired the moniker posthumously from newspapers in the habit of nicknaming crimes they found particularly lurid. The “Black Dahlia” nickname may have been derived from a film noir murder mystery, The Blue Dahlia, released in April, 1946. Short was found mutilated, her body sliced in half at the waist, on January 15, 1947, in Leimert Park, Los Angeles, California. Short’s unsolved murder has been the source of widespread speculation, leading to many suspects, along with several books, television and film adaptations of the story. Short’s murder is one of the oldest unsolved murder cases in Los Angeles history.

Episode 46 – Guest Appearance: Mitch Lillie from Coding Amateur Hour

In this episode, we invited Mitch Lillie of the Coding Amateur Hour podcast and had quite an insightful conversation. Our discussion lead us through multiple topics, from podcasting to programming and then finally unto the paranormal. Mitch has a difference perspective on life and… everything, really. This was quite a humbling episode for me and want to thank our guest for such a different, yet detailed, point of view. Check his show out, Coding Amateur Hour, on iTunes, Stitcher or any podcast app. Also, check out his website: http://www.mitchlillie.com!

Episode 45 – A Closer Look: Psychics (Fortune-Telly, Not Dead-Talky)

After our show on James Randi, we decided to take a closer look at psychics. Those also included are fortune-tellers, prophets, and seers. From Nostradamus to Sylvia Browne, come take a trip with us through the history of psychics and their worldly predictions.

Episode 44 – Paranormal Biographies: James “The Amazing” Randi

Yes, indeed, I’m a trickster, I’m a cheat, I’m a charlatan, that’s what I do for a living. Everything I’ve done here was by trickery. – James “The Amazing” Randi Episode 44: Tori and I look into the wonderous life of Randall Zwinge aka James Randi. Within the research, we’ve learned more than just his life and his accomplishments, but rather learned about ourselves. Mr. Randi has made quite an impact on the skeptical, and even supernatural, communities. He’s exposed so many fakes and charlatans, and we’re very excited to bring you up to speed. If you take anything from this show, please allow to be that “no matter how smart or well-educated you are, you too can be deceived.” *drops mic*
